WHY are autos 78% at fault?
Most people think that they are good drivers. Unfortunately that leads us to have a false sense of security and definitely not an impartial evaluation of our driving abilities. For some reason people believe that just because they have a license issued by the state that they must be a good driver or the state would not have issued them a license. Right? Wrong! All you have to do is stand around in almost any busy drivers license testing facility and there is a good chance you will see someone actually cheating on a test or someone else actually taking the test for another. This doesn't even include that fact that most people don't even study the drivers manual and are taking the test for the fifth time. Another factor is the necessary skill of understanding english. Often if a person can't read english then knowing just traffic signs does little to help them understand the particuliar nuiances of each state with different laws. This all makes sense to doesn't it?
More to the point as to why 78% of auto drivers are at fault when involved in an accident with a truck. Consider the fact that our original point is the truth! Most people have little or no understanding of anything about a truck. This knowledge is hardly addressed by drivers license departments as it seems difficult enough for them to test just basics. Most things are common sense, however the more you know about trucks the smarter you will be in avoiding accidents with them. A high percentage of automobile occupants that have accidents with trucks will ultimately either experience a serious injury or death, not to mention major property loss. All the more reason to stay as far away from trucks as you can. Remember that just because trucks have more wheels than a car doesn't mean them can stop faster! One of the things that The Hedtke Institute came up with that the general public is not aware of, is that there seems to be an effort on the part of traffic engineers across the country to get more traffic through intersections at the expense of drivers by ignoring the fact that the length of time a YELLOW LIGHT is on determines just how many RED LIGHT RUNNERS there are, how many revenue generating tickets are written, as well as how much secondary revenue is created by need for attorneys, insurance companies, auto dent repair shops, not to mention the personal injuries, hospitals and mortuaries. alongside the truck and you see it's directional signal
on turning towards you.

needs to make a turn?
You can be sure it is alot!
A semi tractor trailer will usually
have to use adjoining lanes to safely
make a turn in either direction!
What should you do when you see a
truck backing up?
The right answer is to stay away from
it at all costs, give it a wide berth!
WHY? The driver might just not see you!

a BIG TRUCK takes alot longer to stop
than you do in a car!
Just because it has more wheels
doesn't mean it will be able to stop
if you cut in front of that truck too close
and you suddenly have to make an emergency stop.
You are risking your life with this kind of action.

from BIG TRUCKS, don't risk your life or
your family's just to get in front of a truck!
